1Do not buy this dvd player!Mar 21, 2010
We were thrilled when we received this blue ray player with Netflix streaming capabilities two Christmas ago for a present. It played beautifully and we were able to stream videos from Netflix no problem. However, when we uploaded the latest firmware update we lost the ability to play regular dvds. It is a known problem with this product (as evidenced by the countless forums regarding this problem and how people have tried to rectify it)and yet when LG was contacted they told me it would cost me $69 for them to fix the problem they created. This is the standard line they give all complaining customers. Since we mainly rent dvds from Red Box or Netflix we usually get regular dvds and this player has become virtually useless to us. It worked fine while it lasted but it is preposterous that LG ask me to shell out even more money to ship them the player and have them fix the problem they created. Seems like a totally racket and is not good business in the least. Had LG handled the problem appropriately I would have no complaints. But as it is, I refuse to give them money to fix the bug they gave me and instead will be buying the Roku and a separate Blue Ray player. LG has lost me has a customer for good with their unethical behavior.

1Will Not Play New Blu-Ray discsMar 20, 2010
Certain popular blu-ray titles such as Star Trek and Up will not play. I've called Customer Service and they told me that a Firmware update was coming...that was in November! I also had an LG monitor that just stopped working. LG sucks. Period.

1ANOTHER CRASHED LG BD300 - No Service - do not buyFeb 16, 2010
I bought this player in Dec. 2008. Through the year it started dropping the network connection. It got worst and worst until it would not work with Netflix or youtube. Now the DVD player is broke. SO IT IS A BOAT ANCHOR.
The Warranty is a joke.
WARRANTY
Limited Warranty 1 Year Parts/90 Days Labor
Even if it was longer, LG service does not respond.

There is NO SERVICE.

NO MORE LG PRODUCTS for me.

1Firmware upgrade is TOXICFeb 15, 2010
Just a note to all the folks who own this now discontinued DVD player...the latest firmware upgrade kills this machine's ability to play regular DVDs. Blu Ray still works, but I have 98% 'regular' DVDs and now this unit is useless and LG wants $[...] for an out of warranty repair. Avoid this upgrade if possible. Better yet, buy another unit. I will not purchase any more products from LG.
